Coffs Harbour Bypass Project: Proposed compulsory acquisition of properties to construct the project

What has happened?

The Coffs Harbour Bypass Project consists of developing a 14-kilometre motorway upgrade from Englands Road in the south to Woolgoolga in the north.

By upgrading the existing road into a four-lane structure, the development will improve transport efficiency, road safety and connectivity for local, regional and interstate motorists. Construction is expected to start in 2020 and will take four to five years to complete.

In September 2019, RMS released the preferred concept design for community feedback.

Implications

The Government will need to acquire several commercial and residential properties to construct the project.

If your business or residential property is affected by the Coffs Harbour Bypass Project, you should seek legal advice.
